I actually like the angular design on that Facit, gives it a retro-space vibe. Nice and neat cursive typeface. Isn't it great when a listing for a cool machine is overlooked?
Thanks to everyone for their kind words on the 1620. I am very excited to have added a script machine to the collection! As others have noted, there seems to be a whole mess of problems to be had with these finicky little Facits. Rest assured, I repaired the bell problem this past Sunday. It was not a preferable angle to do so, but a half hour with tweezers and a dental mirror had a modified spring installed with only minimal suicidal thoughts! Thanks all!

ReplyDeleteHappy for you, Ken!
A storage place for pens and such is brilliant. None of my typewriter cases offer that.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful typeface. the first script from Facit that I've seen. The 1620 looks like it is a nice machine also.
ReplyDeleteA Facit with Script? Congratulations on that find!
ReplyDeleteThat's very nice - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful font!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, I had to fix the bell on my TP1 too. No need to put in a new spring, you can (probably) just bend the existing one a little.
i have an identical facit 1620 - not script however. i like it a lot actually. crisp and snappy.
ReplyDeleteand to to get this machine for the deal you got: id be jumping for joy too! real sweet good fortune!
What a nice typeface!
ReplyDeleteThe typewriter seems to be in very good conditions with a nice case!
I've noticed that also my Facit TP1 has a not-working bell :)
She's a beauty! I have a Studio 44 script and I love it. Congrats!
