Wow, what a jab! Is that after you went to rub the S&G and got him instead? :P The first day was...long, to say the least. Hundred degrees, no shade, no breeze, and 9 straight hours of concrete. I just wish I had brought more shirts...it was an uncomfortable ride home!
You presume correctly, good sir. :) Cat hair gets everywhere, man. It is amazing how much Manny sheds, and yet he is not bald. And yes, the Facit really is a nice typer. Nice machine to have around.
Great looking pets. Zannah especially looks like a fantastic dog. Pit bull & lab mix seems like a good mix. One of the children in my neighborhood has one and it is a beautiful well-mannerd dog. I may one day switch breeds from my Rotties. My wife wants a cat. My allergies say no, although I think it depends on the cat. I had one that was like a feline puppy when we lived in VA.
I am actually rather allergic to cats. I have had Manny for so long, though, that he hardly bothers me anymore. Other cats, however, still get to me. It's just a matter of becoming immune to their particular dander or whatever bit of it makes you allergic. I don't think I can ever go back from Pits. Really, Leila and I look them up on Craig's List quite often. Most of the ones around here are located in Philly, and there is an amazing no kill shelter there that takes them all in. Most SPCA's in my area will not even allow you to adopt a Pit. They get them in, and near instantly put them down, and that is just awful. Dogs are not born bad, and for an entire breed of amazingly loyal and loving dogs, they get a bad rap from the people that abuse them. It's such a shame.
Thanks for sharing pictures of your four-footed family! Pets are one of the major joys of life.
My Maine Coon cat Rupert often lies on his back like Manny. Check out his kitty blog "The Adventures of Rupert" on my blogroll. He's been VERY lazy about posting but he'd love you to stop by!
Your dogs and cat obviously get along well, and seem very happy.
HA! I am going to check out that blog directly after posting this. And yes, Manny really loves the dogs, especially Zinnie. He'll just walk over and rub his face into her's. It's great.
dude, i remember growing up and just constantly hearing about pit bull attacks on the news. maybe its just an LA thing because it kept happening around compton and the hood. Babies getting their faces gnawed off. Grandmas being severely ravaged. there were killer bees and killer pit bulls.
yours seem cool though. im still weary of pit bulls. i liken them to sharks - magnificent creatures who can be docile one moment and then lose it and attack without concern.
It is the people that subject these types of dogs to abuse (mostly physically beating them, along with putting them in dog fights of the most disgusting nature) that gives them a bad rap. Pit Bulls are loyal dogs, loving dogs, and because of their attributes (mostly the jaw) they have been used in the worst sort of way, and then are looked at as if they are monsters. I am not an activist of much, but this sort of behavior absolutely disgusts me, especially when innocent dogs are killed because their breed have been victimized. Trust me, you cannot do much better for yourself or your family than with a Pit Bull. My dogs are immensely protective of my family and our home, but would never ever hurt anyone. I have not, yet, had a break in or anything like that, so I do not know how they would react to an actual danger situation, but their growl alone is sufficient. They are, too, the most loving animals I have ever met. They want nothing more than to sit on my lap (even at their size, they literally do this) and the love in their eyes just...god, I hate those people. They should be put down, not the dogs.
As for my 'babyface'...HA! These pictures are over a year old (the ones with me), but yes, I am rather young. I can nearly get a beard going now, at 23 years old. Pathetic.
It's raining cats and dogs over at your place. ( : I told Richard that if I ever get a cat, it's got to be hairless!
ReplyDeleteHope the power plant job went well, Ken.

ReplyDeleteWell, that was when cat hair somehow got into my mouth while I was trying out a Facit. That's one nice typewriter, by the way. I know you've got one.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you were fried, but at least you got the job done. And done well, presumably.

I love it when the cats and dogs get along like that. We've had that too. Nice animals, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really great menagerie!
ReplyDeleteYeah, our two cats' fur gets into my typewriters, even though I try to keep them out of that part of the house.
Manny's fur gets just about everywhere. I can only imagine how much there would be with two cats...
