The whole ball of wax

Felt weird taking pictures of a camera...

Included accessories. From left to right: Well, I am not sure what this first thingy is...then, 100mm lens, 35mm lens, power viewfinder(?), and two Argus C2's, which I think are some sort of prismatic lens. The lens on the camera is a 50mm.

'The whole ball of wax', as the seller colloquially put it.

These people do not believe in price tags...except for things that are black, I suppose, and that is just because their sharpie will not show up. I cannot tell you how many prices we have had to scrub off of pottery from this place.

  1. The first thing looks like a light meter. Very nice score on the camera and the typewriter! I used my techno Olympia today as well!

    1. Damn these Olympia's are smooth. This has to be even smoother than the later model SM9 I have. Quite an amazing machine. I really have no idea what that thing is, but it could be either of the things you suggested. I will just have to do some research. Thanks!

    3. I will get around to it as soon as I get some film and such. I swear!

  2. Wow! Great stuff, all of it.

My best thrift store find, I'd say, was my Olympia SG1 for $10. I embraced that sucker immediately and staggered to the cash register.

    1. Staggered is right. Those things are built to last, eh? I'll be damned if that giant machine isn't one of the most pleasant typers I have ever had the chance to use. You would think some of that would be lost while producing a typewriter the size of a Prius, but not here.

    1. I am excited to get started with photography. Just some typewriter photos here and there, you know, and perhaps some when Leila and I are out for the day. The developing is something we can bond over, as she is the one with all of the knowledge.

  4. Nice Argus. It's great you were able to get the extras. I can't tell from the photo what the item on the left could be.

  5. It might also be a shutter timer?

  6. Very nice techno font on that Olympia SM9, good for you.
    You are a typewriter magnet.

That's an awesome Argus camera as well, and with lenses at that.
You're not just a typewriter magnet, you are a retro tech magnet.

    1. I'm something, but such words should not be uttered on an open forum. :D
I have been looking into pocket watches as well, lately. I have purchased one good one in the past. Of course, on taking it out of my pocket, I dropped it and destroyed its ability to keep time. I will find one that really strikes me someday.
